Professional Information

Meccon is a heavy industrial construction company specializing in the installation of mechanical, process and utility piping, plumbing, equipment installations and process instrumentation systems. We have a more than thirty-eight (38) year history of constructing new system installations and performing modifications to existing systems for the automotive, aviation, chemical, food, oil, steel, and waste water treatment industries and continue to perform as one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Midwest. Our expertise includes off-site fabrication and on-site installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium and other alloy piping materials for low and high temperature and pressure systems.

Due to our diverse experience, we are able to offer a creative approach to the construction management of our contracts resulting in providing our clients with the most safe and cost effective project within the schedule required to meet their needs. Our project management team provides advanced planning of each phase of work and outlines in detail the actual items of work that our field forces are required to perform. This commitment to scheduling is important to the actual implementation of the work and is especially critical when performing work in existing facilities to minimize the impact on their plant operations.

Safety

Employees are our most important assets and their safety is our greatest responsibility. It is the policy of Meccon Industries, Inc. to provide a safe working environment, to eliminate safety hazards and to provide adequate safety devices for all Meccon employees.

Further, it is our goal to create safety awareness among our employees so that each individual understands that he or she has the ultimate responsibility to work safely. Unsafe work practices by any individual on the jobsite can often lead to accidents even in s safe working environment. It is our goal to eliminate both.

We firmly believe that accidents can be controlled and prevented and that the key to controlling accidents on each project rests with supervision and their understanding of the direct relationship of safety and insurance costs. Safety is the primary responsibility of operating management and all supervisory employees must accept these responsibilities. Our basic objective is to establish, throughout the construction site, a concept that the protection of people and property will receive top priority, support, and participation by all management personnel.

QA/QC Program

Meccon's Quality Assurance Program is based on ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Codes and is accredited by both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI). As a result of these accreditations, Meccon possesses the "R", "S" and "PP" Stamps. To ensure compliance with Owner's project specific QA/QC Requirements, we employ Certified Weld Inspectors (CWI) as needed to ensure that all requirements of the project specific approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) are followed and that the welding performed is by welders currently certified to the WPS's.

Welding Qualifications

Welding of all piping systems are performed by qualified welders certified on all carbon steels, titanium, chrome alloy, nickel, hastelloy, steels (304, 316, Carpenter 20, 2025, 904L, etc.) and aluminum.
